Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Speedtest.net.ar. By accessing and using our website and diagnostic tools, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any of these terms, please refrain from using our services. Use of the service also constitutes acceptance of our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service; if you are a minor, your use must have the consent of your parents or legal guardians.

2. Service Description

Speedtest.net.ar provides free tools to measure internet connection performance (bandwidth, latency, etc.). The service is for personal, non-commercial use unless expressly authorized. The service may also be offered under the brand of authorized internet service providers ("white label"); in those cases, measurement and data processing remain operated by Speedtest.net.ar under these terms.

3. Nature of Results ("As Is")

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Estimated Results: Speed tests are snapshots and can vary due to multiple factors (network congestion, user hardware, WiFi interference). Results are technical estimates and do not constitute a certified audit.
  • No Warranty: The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
  • Legal Validity: Obtained results should not be used as irrefutable legal proof in contractual disputes with Internet Service Providers (ISPs), although they may serve as a technical reference.

4. Measurement Data & License of Use

By running a speed test (including on white-label pages or embedded widgets), you grant Speedtest.net.ar a free, non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to store, process, and use the measurement results (speed, latency, packet loss, detected provider, approximate location, and technical connection data) for the following purposes:

  • To produce and publish aggregated, anonymous statistics (rankings, per-provider averages, reports on the state of the internet).
  • To license aggregated, anonymous data to third parties (internet service providers, manufacturers, regulators, media).
  • To improve the service and its diagnostic algorithms.

Published or licensed data is always aggregated and does not allow you to be personally identified. The processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy.

5. Artificial Intelligence Diagnosis

The connection diagnosis is generated automatically by artificial intelligence from the measured metrics. It is informational and indicative in nature: it may contain errors or inaccuracies, does not constitute technical or professional advice, and does not guarantee that the suggested actions will solve a problem. Verify any relevant information before making decisions (for example, contracting services, purchasing equipment, or filing claims with your provider). Speedtest.net.ar assumes no liability for decisions made on the basis of the diagnosis.

6. User Accounts

Creating an account is optional. By registering, you agree to provide truthful information, to keep your credentials confidential, and to be responsible for all activity carried out from your account. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms or use false information.

7. User Conduct & Prohibited Uses

You agree to use the service lawfully. It is strictly prohibited to:

  • Perform massive automated tests, "scraping", or use bots without written permission.
  • Use the platform to launch Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks or intentionally saturate third-party networks.
  • Attempt to access restricted areas of the site, servers, or databases.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the site's software.
  • Run tests in a massive, automated, or coordinated manner with the purpose of influencing or distorting the published statistics, rankings, or averages.
  • Embed, frame, or integrate the service into third-party sites without express authorization. Authorized white-label clients are exempted under the terms of their contract.

We reserve the right to apply usage limits and to block IP addresses or devices that engage in these uses.

8. Intellectual Property & Trademarks

Speedtest.net.ar is an independent service and has no affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from Ookla, LLC or any other global speed-test entity or trademark.

  • The term "speedtest" is used on this website merely descriptively to identify the technical functionality of the tool (internet speed test).
  • All rights to the source code, design, databases, and original content belong to Speedtest.net.ar.
  • All third-party trademarks, logos, and product names mentioned on this site are the property of their respective owners. Their mention does not imply endorsement or affiliation.

9. Affiliate Links & Advertising

Some equipment recommendations include affiliate links: if you make a purchase through them, Speedtest.net.ar may receive a commission, at no additional cost to you. These links are identified as such. Recommendations are based on the measured metrics and on technical criteria; the purchase takes place on third-party platforms under their own terms, and we are not a party to that transaction.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Speedtest.net.ar and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including loss of data, revenue, or profits) arising from the use or inability to use the service.

11. Indemnity

You agree to hold Speedtest.net.ar and its developers harmless from third-party claims arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of third-party rights, including reasonable defense costs.

12. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend, limit, or interrupt access to the service (in whole or in part, including accounts and IP addresses) in the event of breaches of these terms or abusive uses, and we may modify or discontinue features without liability. Clauses that by their nature should survive (the license over measurement data, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law) survive termination.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Modifications will be effective immediately upon posting on the site. Continued use of the service implies acceptance of the new terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be removed and the remaining provisions shall remain valid and enforceable.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Any dispute arising from the interpretation or execution of these terms shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the Ordinary Courts of the City of Puerto Madryn, Province of Chubut. This clause does not limit the non-waivable rights that users may hold as consumers under public-order consumer protection rules (Argentine Consumer Protection Law No. 24,240 and related regulations), including, where the law so provides, the right to bring an action before the courts of their own domicile.
