Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-06

At Speedtest.net.ar, we take your privacy seriously. This policy details how we collect, use, and protect the technical and personal information arising from the use of our network diagnostic tool.

1. Information We Collect

When you start a speed test, our systems automatically collect certain data necessary for the technical operation of the service:

  • Test Data: Download and upload speed, latency (ping), jitter, packet loss, and IP address.
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution.
  • Approximate Location: City and country derived from your IP address (we do not use precise GPS without explicit consent).
  • Provider Data (ISP): Name of your internet provider and estimated connection type.

2. How We Use Information

The collected information is used for the following legitimate purposes:

  • Service Provision: To process and display your measurement results in real-time.
  • Network Analysis: To generate aggregated and anonymous statistics on ISP performance in different regions.
  • Continuous Improvement: To detect technical errors, optimize our servers, and prevent abuse or attacks (DDoS).

3. Data Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. However, due to the technical nature of the internet, some information must be shared for the test to work:

  • Test Servers (Hosts): When performing a test, your device connects to an external server (Host). The operator of this server necessarily receives your IP address to exchange test data. These hosts are independent entities.
  • Advertising (Google AdSense): We use Google AdSense to fund the service. Google and its partners may use cookies to display ads based on your previous visits to this or other websites.

4. Aggregated Statistics & Data Licensing

Measurement results are stored and processed by Speedtest.net.ar, including tests run on authorized white-label pages and embedded widgets. From this data we may produce and publish aggregated, anonymous statistics (rankings, per-provider averages, reports on the state of the internet) and license them to third parties (internet service providers, manufacturers, regulators, media). Published or licensed data is always aggregated and anonymous: it never identifies you personally. The license of use over measurement results is detailed in Section 4 of our Terms of Service.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use essential technical cookies for site operation (like remembering your preferred language) and third-party cookies for analytics and advertising. You can configure your browser to reject all cookies, though this may affect site functionality.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures (HTTPS/TLS, firewalls) to protect your data against unauthorized access. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure.

7. International Data Transfer

Due to the global nature of the internet, your data (such as IP address) may be processed on servers located outside of Argentina to perform the speed test. By using the service, you consent to this transfer necessary for the technical execution of the test.

8. Minors

This service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with data, please contact us for immediate deletion.

9. Your Rights

As a user, you have the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal data. If you wish to remove a test record associated with your IP, you may contact us via our official form.
